Mission Statement

The Semantic Web Research Center at KAIST (SWRC, is a group of researchers devoted into the research into the next-generation Semantic Web and the development of infrastructural technologies by way of constructing an ontology and implementing cognitive machine intelligence with a view to leading the oncoming age of the Semantic Web. Started out as the Terminological Language Engineering Research Center back in 1998, the center took a step forward into the ontology of a next-generation Semantic Web, the inference engine, the knowledge portal, and the ubiquitous broker, finally resulting in the foundation of the SWRC. The center's goals at hand include enhancing KAIST's own capacity so that the institute could head the Semantic Web field as well as encourage more participation by the teaching and research faculties with a view to growing into a flagship research center in the field.
